According to the second definition in the Gran Diccionari de la Llengua Catalana (GDLC), the word manifestació refers to a “collective demonstration in which those who take part express their convictions, desires, or feelings in favor of an opinion or a demand.”
While this sociological definition already frames the meaning of the sound selection I propose, we can specify it further by referring to the Dictionary of Collective Bargaining, where a clarifying note indicates that “The manifestation is sometimes used as a measure of pressure in cases of collective conflict.”
